The brand

BYREDO is a modern European luxury house founded in 2006 by Ben Gorham.

In contrast to Scandinavian esthetics, BYREDO carries clear ethnic influences from Ben’s Indian background with strong ties to creativity, art and lifestyle and has established a unique position in the market.

Concept

"My research is made up of travels, stories, encounters and cultures, I like to take the time to understand an environment before translating it into a fragrance. »

Byredo offers fragrances that are at once classic, exotic and trendy. Its Bal d'Afrique (musky vetiver), Gyspsy Water (incensed amber), Blanche (pure floral) and their timelessly minimalist bottles now have fans all over the world.

Distinguished by its modern elegance, Scandinavian aesthetics and the special care taken in the manufacture of certified Made in France products, Byredo offers a range of products with a unique identity.

By limiting the number of raw materials, the designer gives a clear identity and a reason to exist for each fragrance. Byredo designs objects using the highest quality materials available, and high-end design details to fuel a renewed approach to modern luxury.

Founder, Ben Gorham

Swedish by birth, born to an Indian mother and a Canadian father, Ben Gorham grew up in Toronto, New York and Stockholm. He graduated from Stockholm Art School with a degree in Fine Arts, but a chance encounter with perfumer Pierre Wulff convinced him that he preferred to create fragrances rather than paintings.

Having no formal training in the field, Ben Gorham, 31, called on the services of world-renowned perfumers Olivia Giacobetti and Jérôme Epinette, explaining his olfactory desires to them and letting them create the compositions.

As an outsider in the beauty industry, Ben is a bit of an anomaly and has been recognized for his personal style and connection to fashion and art in several international magazines such as French Vogue, Vanity Fair, Elle, V Magazine and Fantastic Man to name a few.
