Concept

The brand strives to work in harmony with nature and people, including their perfumers, who imbue fragrances with their memories to stir senses and deepen every moment’ s meaning. These sensorial experiences come to life through Molton Brown customers, amplifying their truth and showing what’ s possible when nature, memory, and culture connect. Where will they take you?

The story

The journey began in June 1971 when co-founders Caroline Burstein and Michael Collis opened their first salon on South Molton Street, Mayfair, with a vision to place individual beauty at the heart of the brand. In the salon ’ s basement, they hand-mixed natural products and embraced eco-conscious practices, such as recyclable plastic and cruelty-free formulas. In 1984, the Orange & Bergamot collection was created by Master Perfumer Beverley Bayne, and production moved to Mott’ s Hall in Elsenham, where Caroline and Michael grew their own herbs. Today, products are still crafted in Hertfordshire, in collaboration with an eclectic range of perfumers, including Senior Perfumer Jacques Chabert and his daughter Carla, who have created iconic fragrances like Re-charge Black Pepper and Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel.
