To create a suave, intoxicating, and sensual fragrance, Antoine Lie drew inspiration from the orangery of the Château de Versailles and the timeless strength of orange blossom, revered by perfumers as an iconic ingredient.
Fresh and spicy top notes of cardamom, mandarin, and saffron capture the senses.
Gradually, the warm and captivating heart notes are revealed: orange blossom absolute takes center stage, glorified by round and sensual facets, enhanced by the floral notes of iris and the smoky nuances of incense.
Strong and vibrant base notes of tonka bean, cedar, and Guaiac wood leave an intensely addictive feeling on the skin.
The perfume’s symbolic depth is best expressed on the midnight blue box: adorned with an illustration, it celebrates the Sun King’s unconditional love for orange blossom – and the trend he initiated at Versailles.
Designed by Clovis Retif and printed in hot gold, the illustration portrays Louis XIV’s royal silhouette, his face adorned with an orange blossom.

The story
Cire Trudon enlists well-known “noses” to create perfumes for the stories it wishes to tell. Each candle is still dripped and made by hand in its factory in Normandy, perpetuating a luxury manufacturing which helps perpetuates the skills of its founder, Claude Trudon.
Maison Trudon has asked British painter and illustrator Lawrence Mynott to create an original drawing for each one of the fragrances in the line. Lawrence Mynott is one of the top illustrators, designers and portrait painters of his generation. A control of pen and ink, stencil, paint, scraperboard and pencil underlines his versatility in fashion drawing, caricature, figurative subjects and portraiture, but his signature can be seen above all in his attention to detail, innate style, elegance and wit that he brings to every project.
